12 Resin Pooja Thali FAQs & Troubleshooting: Sticky Resin, Curing Times & Food Safety
A few quick answers before you get started! Everything you need to know about the 2:1 ratio, ready-made accessories, fixing sticky resin, and proper demoulding.

1. Is this kit beginner-friendly?
Yes! ❤️ You don't need any previous resin-art experience. Just follow the step-by-step guide, measure carefully and take your time.
2. What is the resin-to-hardener ratio?
The ratio is 2:1. For the complete 300 g quantity: 200 g Resin + 100 g Hardener. Accurate measurement is important for proper curing. Do not guess the ratio!
3. Do I need to make the Kum Kum Katoris and Tea Light Holder?
No! Both the 2 Kum Kum Katoris and the Tea Light Holder are ready-made. You only need to make the main Pooja Thali using the resin and mould.
4. How do I use the pearl rings?
Simply place the 2 small pearl rings around the Kum Kum Katoris and the large pearl ring around the Tea Light Holder. No resin or additional assembly is required.
5. Can I use all the mica powders and glitters?
You can use them individually or combine them to create your own colour and sparkle combination. We recommend starting with a small amount and adding more gradually.
6. How do I use the gold flakes?
There is no fixed method! Scatter them randomly, concentrate them in one area, place them around the edges or combine them with glitter. Let your creativity decide.
7. How do I create a marble effect?
Prepare two or more coloured resin mixtures and pour them into the mould. Gently swirl the colours together with a mixing stick. Don't overmix — a few gentle swirls create the best effect.
8. How long should I wait before demoulding?
Wait until the resin has fully cured. The exact curing time depends on the resin supplied with your kit and the surrounding conditions, so follow the curing instructions provided with the resin. Don't demould just because the surface feels hard.
9. What if my resin is still sticky?
The most common reasons are: Incorrect resin-to-hardener ratio, Incomplete mixing, Too much pigment or additives, Not enough curing time, or Low temperature. Make sure you measure accurately and mix the resin and hardener thoroughly.
10. Can I use the finished thali for food?
No. The resin thali is intended for decorative and pooja use only and should not be used for direct food contact unless specifically certified for that purpose.
11. Can children make this kit?
Children can enjoy the creative and decorating aspects under adult supervision, but uncured resin and hardener should only be handled by adults.
12. What if my thali looks different from the picture?
That's completely okay! ❤️ Resin naturally creates unique patterns depending on how the colours, glitter and gold flakes move. Your thali doesn't have to look exactly like ours. That's the beauty of DIY — every piece is uniquely yours!
